Key Stage one Shared Area

The children love their shared area! Sharing is definitely caring in KS1 at Al Muna! This area is found between all of the year 1 and 2 classrooms and is used for group work, displays, activities and collaborative activities. It is seen as an extension of the classrooms where the children are able to apply the skills they have been taught in the classroom. They are encouraged to develop their listening and speaking skills while working together and leading their own learning independently while having fun.

Nursery Shared Area

This is the nursery shared area and all three nursery classes open up into it. The shared area is vibrant, learning environment which is the heart of Nursery. It has a soft play area, computers, sand and water areas, an art and writing area and a construction area. Children are free to choose the activities they would like to do.

Laptops and Tablets

The children are provided with both laptops and I-pads which are used to further support and develop their computer science skills. They are taught how digital systems work and how to put this knowledge to use. The children learn how to create simple programmes, express themselves and develop their ideas through ICT at an appropriate developmental level. They learn how to become active participants in a digital world.

School Hall

The hall is the hub of our school, being used for assemblies, P.E. activities, lunchtime dining, ECA’s, Parent Workshops, school events and performances on our spacious stage… to name but a few. It is a large, spacious air-conditioned space which we are lucky to have – especially during the hot summer months.

Counsellors Office

Miss Taylor is our School Counsellor, she supports the emotional and social well-being of students and their families at Al Muna Academy and helps with any problems or concerns they may have.

Year 6 Shared Area

This is the Year 6 shared area where the three Year 6 classes (and the Music Room) are located. It is divided into 7 areas: art, computing, English, library, maths, reading and science. The students are encouraged to work quietly in the shares area independently, collaboratively, with a classroom assistant or a teacher, which they always keen to do. The displays in the shared area change with the topic being taught which helps inspire their learning and immerse the students in the subject matter. The Year 6 shared area is a warm and inviting environment where the students can learn, laugh and live.

Effective School Library

An effective well stock school library enhances children learning outcomes by providing a range of programs, services and resources which support teaching and learning. Our Library is open for parents to visit, create an account and borrow books from Sunday to Wednesday from 2:20pm until 2:45pm.

Al Muna Mural

Al Muna children have contributed to our creative and inspiring mural with the award-winning artist, Gemma Gallagher.

Playground

The pupils and staff together have worked hard to enhance the playground environment. There are paintings to decorate the walls, games to play both on the floor and on the walls, and a friendship bench area where anyone without someone to play with can find a friend. Playground buddies help ensure that playtime is a pleasant experience for all.
