14.- Presidial shield

Shield used by Spanish presidial or cuera soldiers, in charge of protecting the northern border of the viceroyalty of New Spain. This type of defense comes from North Africa and reached America with the first expeditions in the 16th century. It remained an effective defensive weapon due to the absence of firearms in confrontations on the new continent.

19.- British flag captured in Menorca

Fragment of a British flag before 1801, with the flags of Scotland and England, known as the "Union Jack". This copy, which flew in the castle of San Felipe, Mahón, island of Menorca, was delivered by the English after their surrender to the Franco-Spanish troops of the Duke of Crillon.

7.- Spanish-Filipino ivory triptych

Ivory carving of Philippine origin traditionally related to Charles V. Christ is represented on the cross, surrounded by the Holy Spirit, the angels, the Virgin, Saint John, Mary Magdalene and the Four Evangelists. It shows the presence of the private devotional sphere of the time on the battlefields.

23.- Diego de León's vest and uniform

Vest and hussar uniform of Diego de León y Navarrete, (1807-1841), which he wore on the day of his execution in 1841, accused of participating in the uprising against the regent Espartero. Both the vest and the dolman have bullet holes, blood stains and numerous damages. The uniform is not regulation, since it was made in England to the owner's liking.

34.- Table and chair of the Vergara agreement

Table and chairs from the Don Antolín hamlet in Vergara where generals Baldomero Espartero and Rafael Maroto held the first conference regarding the Vergara Convention in 1839. They are shown in a scenography that evokes the original space.

22.- Portrait of María Cristina de Borbón

Romantic portrait of Queen María Cristina, fourth wife of Ferdinand VII and regent of Spain. All the details represent the fashion of the moment, the velvety blue dress and matching hat with feather, the pearl and diamond set and the fan. On his chest he wears the band and veneration of the Order of María Luisa.

20.- Ensign of the Lion

Ensign of the Lion of the 2nd Battalion of the Peninsular Infantry Regiment of Asturias (1822-1823). The animal represents Spain and holds the Constitution of 1812 with one of its paws. According to the Cortes Act of 1821, the Army is ordered to replace the flags and standards with this new insignia. The bearer of the banner will be the lionifer. This provision was not successful.

35.- Flag of General Cabrera

Flag of the Carlist battalion of General Cabrera, taken in Morella, Castellón by the troops of General Espartero to the Carlist garrison of General Cabrera. Its particular pirate iconography, used on other occasions, is a way of intimidating the enemy. He belonged to the Miñones de Cabrera battalion, an elite unit on which the defense of the castle depended.

16.- Artillery Treaty Plate

Copper plate, matrix of the set of engravings published, in 1803, in the Treaty of Artillery by Tomás de Morla. In addition to its didactic function, providing the young cadets of the Royal College of Artillery with knowledge of technical systems, the collection of plates is a magnificent example of the art of engraving.

10.- Ferdinand VI

Portrait of King Ferdinand VI, son and successor of Philip V, represented with the Golden Fleece hanging from his neck and the blue band of the order of the Holy Spirit crossing his chest. His reign is characterized by the maintenance of peace and neutrality against France and England.

6.- Luxury Spanish frame

Type of bridle horse saddle, used in military parades, dating from the second half of the 17th century. It features a large plant decoration embroidered in gold on green velvet.

13.- Leather leather

Leather used by soldiers in the New Mexico and Texas border presidios in the 18th and early 19th centuries. Made up of several layers of leather and suede.

37.- Carlist machine gun organ

Carlist machine gun organ with mount composed of twenty rifle barrels placed in parallel, used in the first Carlist war in Catalonia (1833-1839). In 1842 it was given to the Museum by the then Field Marshal Francisco Serrano.

29.- Shield of distinction of Agustina of Aragon

Shield of distinction of Defenders of Zaragoza, unique piece made expressly for Agustina de Aragón. The legend "Defenders of Zaragoza" highlights the character in question as a heroine in the siege of the city during the War of Independence. The color red and the rampant lion refer to the flag of the Aragonese capital.

25.- Box with bandages

Box with bandages from the Royal College of Artillery dated 1816. The bandages bear the initials of the institution RCA ROYAL COLLEGE OF ART.

Rodela or Apache chimal from the 18th century made of buffalo skin

17.- El Rayo Canyon

Cannon from the Royal Manila Artillery Foundry, profusely decorated and with various inscriptions.

27.- Captain Daoiz's uniform

Jacket worn by Captain Luis Daoiz during the clashes on May 2 in the Artillery Park of the Monteleón Barracks in Madrid against the French troops. It has bayonet cuts and traces of blood from the wounds received. It obeys the Artillery officer uniform of the Regulations of 1805, although it has lost some of its elements such as the emblems of grenades embroidered on the collar, which were cut out and stolen as relics. He was buried in this clothing and years later, with the transfer of his remains, they were deposited in a wooden urn preserved in the Museum.

26.- Cannon captured in the English assault on Tenerife

75 mm caliber cannon, captured from British troops in the failed assault by Nelson's squad on Tenerife on July 25, 1797.

8.- Flint musket

Flint musket with morlaca key, from the Ottoman Empire. Dated in the 17th century, it is made of wood and iron with coral inlays.

28.- Saber and scabbard of General Wellington

Cutlass saber and scabbard for Lord Wellington's general officer. Fundamental figure in the War of Independence.

24.- Allegory

Allegorical painting from 1803 that represents the creation of the Royal Regiment of Sappers and Miners, comes from the Engineers Museum. Flanking the column, two mining sappers with white aprons and belts, as well as their tools, pick and shovel, and two unit flags.

36.- General Espartero's first aid kit

First aid kit used by General Espartero during the First Carlist War. It contains a series of bottles with opium and other derivatives of it such as laudanum and Dover's powder, essential for their analgesic and sedative qualities in the face of pain and astrigent in situations of cholera and dysentery in the Campaña Pharmacy.

One of the oldest pieces of artillery cast in iron, displayed on a wooden mount, which reproduces the original.

31.- French cannon "L'Allouett"

French cannon captured from Napoleonic troops, with the imperial crown and the N of Napoleon Bonaparte on the first body, manufactured in Strasbourg in 1808 by the foundryman Cruzy. Named L'Allouett, the lark.

21.- Miquelete amuseta

Artillery prototype made in the Real Maestranza of Barcelona in 1804. It is a portable breech-loading weapon composed of a musket supported on a fork on a set of wheels. The term "amuseta" comes from French and was translated as toy. It stands out for being a precursor to the battle tank, although it was never developed.

12.- Colonel flag

Colonel flag of the Badajoz Provincial Militia Regiment (1760-1780). Copy with the coat of arms of Charles III dated 1760. In that year the flag modified its design and eliminated the lions and the Burgundian cross, although the new model did not appear until 1762.

1.- Boabdil set

Set of clothing belonging to Boabdil, the last Nasrid king of Granada, consisting of a marlota, leggings and slippers. It is a gala outfit, captured in the battle of Lucena in 1483

5.- Quarter barrel

Weapon designed by Cristobal Lechuga, captain of the Tercios between the 16th and 17th centuries. The decoration with plant motifs, the heraldic shield and the dolphins stands out, as well as the inscription CRISTOBAL LECHUGA ME DESINO.

2.- Boabdil's genet sword

Boabdil's genet sword and scabbard, with a rich ivory, silver and enamel hilt. Decoration based on atauriques. The sheath is made of wood covered with embossed leather.

11.- Royal coat of arms of Charles III

Heraldic representation in which the shields of the territories that belonged to Spain appear during the time of Charles III. It is surrounded by the links of the necklace of the Order of the Golden Fleece.

18.- Short barrel

English-made short cannon manufactured in the United Kingdom and from San Juan, Puerto Rico

33.- Flag of the 3rd battalion of Peru

Flag of the 3rd battalion of Peru, taken as a trophy in the battle of Ica in 1822, in the context of the war of independence of the Spanish-American nations. It has three vertical stripes, red, white and red with a shield in the center, surrounded by palm and laurel and with a Phrygian cap.

3.- Royal rapier and Boabdil sheath

This sword, along with the rest of Boabdil's objects, was donated to the museum in 1904 by Carmen Pérez de Barradas y Bernuy, widow of Barradas.

30.- Death of Captain Pedro Velarde

Bas-relief that represents the death of Velarde, which occurred on May 2, 1808 in the Artillery Park in the Monteleón Barracks in Madrid, headquarters of the Royal Military Museum at that time. Along with that of "Daoiz wounded", today in the museum's warehouses, this scene adorned the hearse in which the remains of the two captains were transported to the church of San Isidro in Madrid in 1814.
