2 Sorting of wood into grades

Wear-layer sorting

Only high-quality wear layers are used for further processing and are divided into 5 grades by a special scanner called "Wood Eye". The sorting describes typical features (e.g. knots, cracks, ...) of the natural material wood and divides them into different grades according to number, occurrence and size of the features.

After drying, the softwood posts are planed on 4 sides and then separated into individual "wear-layers" with a wear layer thickness of approx. 4mm. Hardwoods are already supplied as a "wear-layer". The wear layer of parquet must be at least 2.5mm thick.
