Thermo treatment

Dark floors have always been an eye catcher. The thermo treatment in detail: the wear-layers are heated to up to 240 ° C in a vacuum chamber using steam. Due to the heat, the minerals or the natural sugar content of the wood crystallize and the wood begins to turn darker, it "caramelizes". The longer the duration and the higher the heat, the darker the result. This natural process makes European woods darker, a perfect and sustainable alternative to tropical wood!
