Mrs Midgley - Head Teacher

I am very proud to be the Headteacher of Park Primary School. I have worked in a wide range of schools across the UK as my husband was in the army, we have now settled in the local area and are very happy here. Seeing the children learn new skills and overcome challenges is the most rewarding part of my job. I have three young boys who keep me busy. At the weekend we enjoy trips to Bolton Woods and Wycollar.

Our Values and Ethos

At Park we aim to  provide a safe, happy, caring and well ordered environment, in which great learning can take place and where each child is valued as an individual.

Our Curriculum

Cultural Capital Statement

At Park Primary School, all stakeholders are passionate and committed to providing the children in our care with outstanding learning opportunities.
Our aim is to enrich every child’s school experience, to be educated citizens, by creating an environment where they are encouraged to succeed and be the best they can be.
Cultural capital is about preparing children with the essential knowledge and skills for what comes next.   The exploration of new skills and experiences helps to nurture resilience, curiosity and creativity.  Through this journey children develop new forms of cultural capital that makes a difference in individual mind-sets, which consequently shapes their future.
Through our curriculum, which is focused around the Oxfam Global Themes, all children at Park, are exposed to enrichment opportunities which allow them to experience the awe and wonder of the world in which they live.
Our cultural capital journey focuses on the following enrichment opportunities, which are shown below:

This year, we have few brand new clubs along with the long running favourites- Cross Country, Hair and Beauty, FBA (fantastic book award), Chess, Lego, Digital Champions and Dragons’ Den.

Maths at Park

Mathematics

At Park Primary, we want to nurture a love and enjoyment of mathematics in all of our children so that they are keen to explore different concepts and discover the wonder of mathematics and how it links to their every-day world.

Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development

SMSC is essential for children and young people’s individual development, as well as the development of society as a whole. At Park Primary we believe the importance of SMSC is central to the development and growth of pupils as people and at the heart of what teachers would say education is all about. Within these topics and in fact throughout the curriculum we also promote British Values.
What are British values?
democracy;
the rule of law;
individual liberty;
mutual respect for and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs and for those without faith
