Espinasse oven

Info

The oven was used by the inhabitants of the Espinasse - Chanet section. Families gathered together to bake bread, the willow being large enough, 200 kg of fuel (often broom) were needed for heating. The oven and the bakery form a unit designed from the outset. The smoke return vault directs smoke from the mouth of the oven to the opposite side of the building where the chimney is located. It is curious to see the volutes, lit by the glow of the oven, swirling above the heads to escape without problem through the chimney.
