The building of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Maribor

The building of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences of the University of Maribor was built in February 1998. The architectural and construction project of the building was carried out by the company Arhitekt biro Kranj.

Full-timeand part-time  students of the faculty who have a valid status pay the membership fee when they enrol in their first or higher year of study, and other users pay the fee when they enrol in the library. The laboratory of the Department of Informatics

The laboratory of the Department of Informatics, popularly known as the "Desetka" – which means Ten (lecture room P410), is used for the study process and for the meetings of the Department. The installed NC Computing RX300 thin clients are completely silent, generate very little heat, consume very little electricity and allow fast connections to the servers. The main tasks of the Department of Informatics are to research and develop knowledge in the field of information systems, including digital solutions, data mining, modelling, database development, programming, data analysis, cybersecurity, decision support systems, the Internet of Things, web and mobile application development and more.

The department in Engineering of Business and Production Systems deals with engineering and modern management, control and regulation of business and work systems. It supports a network for the unhindered, uncompromising, continuous, and stable flow of thoughts, actions, reactions and myriad activities. Department guides the development of tools and methods that optimise the path to success and ensure competitiveness in organisations. 

The Organizacija Journal

The Organizacija Journal is an interdisciplinary, scientific, and technical journal that publishes articles from the fields of Organizational Sciences, Business Informatics, Production Systems, and Human Resources Management. It is included in a number of bibliographic databases and indexes, including SCOPUS and the Web of Science - Emerging Sources Citation Index. The journal's editorial board strives to raise the scientific standard of its articles and to consistently enforce the standards of high-quality, internationally renowned scientific journals. The Research Centre

The Research Centre, which is registered with the Slovenian Research Agency under the code 0586-003, combines 45 registered Researchers. The Research Centre is also responsible for the implementation of the Postgraduate Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences. The Institute of Organization and Management

The Institute of Organization and Management is a dynamic environment that brings together researchers, students and other professionals, and promotes the Faculty's scientific research activities in connection with the economy. The Institute of Organisation and Management brings together the Faculty Research Centre, the Centre for Education and Consultancy, a number of laboratories and the Centre for the Empirical Study of Organizations. The Research Centre

The Research Centre also has a Project Office, which serves as a support service for the purposes of monitoring calls for tenders, cooperation in the preparation of project proposals, and cooperation in the monitoring of projects, has been operating within the Research Centre. Up to now, the Project Office has applied for and completed a number of domestic and European projects successfully. The Education and Counselling Centre (CIS)

The Education and Counselling Centre (CIS) in parallel to conference and consultancy activities organizes different seminars, trainings, and workshops from various fields, such as Human Resources Management and Education, Strategic Management, Project Management, Business Communication, Engineering of Business Systems, Marketing, Informatics, and other fields. The Conference on Organizational Science Development

The Conference on Organizational Science Development is the conference with the longest tradition at the University of Maribor. The three-day programme presents new trends and topical issues in the fields of organisation and management, which for more than four decades has brought together national and international participants, their opinions, views, scientific and professional debates that promote action in organizations and beyond. The VIVID Conference

The Centre for Electronic Commerce

The Centre for Electronic Commerce was created in the late 1980s as a special unit of the Faculty to bring together business, government and university organisations in the introduction of electronic commerce in organisations. Today, the eCommerce Centre is involved in a number of international projects and continues to fulfil its original mission.

International Symposium on Operations Research SOR

International Symposium on Operations Research SOR is an international symposium on operations research, organised jointly with the Operations Research Section of the Slovenian Society of Informatics and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Ljubljana. The symposium is attended by representatives of universities, government institutions and other organizations. The aim of the Symposium, which is organized every two years, is to popularise operations research for solving complex problems and to encourage further research. The Bled eConference

The Bled eConference is the international event with the longest tradition in e-commerce research at the University of Maribor and one of the leading research and professional events in the world. The mission of the Faculty of Organisational Sciences is to lead the development of organisational sciences at home and internationally. The management of the Faculty

The management of the Faculty consists of the Dean, the Vice-Deans and the General Secretary of the Faculty. The Dean and the Vice-Deans shall be appointed by the Rector on the proposal of the Faculty Senate. The Faculty has five Vice-Deans, namely the Vice-Dean for Educational Activities, the Vice-Dean for Quality and International Cooperation, the Vice-Dean for Research, the Vice-Dean for Development and the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs. The first four Vice-Deans are higher education teachers, while the fifth is student of the faculty. Vision

The Faculty of Organisational Sciences of the University of Maribor, as an academically and research autonomous community, will continuously raise the level of development of organisational sciences and will be internationally recognised and comparable with related institutions in the world and among them as an established partner in interdisciplinary fields with a focus on business and administrative sciences, information and communication technologies (ICT), engineering and production technologies, covering both human resource management and engineering within these fields.

The Accounting Service

The Accounting Service ensures the correct and timely recording of transactions in the accounting books, the preparation of the Faculty's accounts and financial plan and other reports, the calculation of salaries and wages and other emoluments, and the accounting control of receipts and payments, as well as the keeping of records of fixed assets and small inventories.
