Rana Ward

About the artist Rana grew up in Hot Springs, Arkansas, surrounded by a thriving art community. She has studied the fine arts, art history, and graphic design for more than twenty-five years. For six years, she lived in Europe and studied art while participating in the local art communities in Cambridge and London, England. Some of her favorite places to have studied include Paris, London, Barcelona, Florence, Vienna, Zurich, Pisa, New York City, Washington, DC, Munich, and Cologne. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, England, and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Henderson State University.  For over twenty years, she has inspired enthusiasm in high school art students while continuing to create her own award-winning works and expanding into diverse mediums. Artist Statement Art reflects life. Artists express their experiences visually for themselves, but in creating, they connect with others who see themselves in their works. The act of creating is a transformation, a learning experience, and a way to articulate what cannot be put into words. Art is being brave; it is a window to freedom, a sanctuary for the artist, and a gift to the viewer who takes the time to look and connect through the artist’s interpretation of the world they live in.  I want viewers to find beauty, a voice, and inspiration in my work. I want them to know that they can create too. It is not selfish or too late to begin your own creative journey. Just start by drawing items around you with whatever mediums and surfaces are available to you. Just remember, the only bad creations are the ones you never had the courage to start.Website: [Rana's Artistic Creations](https://www.aranacreation.com) Social Media: [Facebook](https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61561504746300)
