Recognizing the importance of maintaining sustainable tourism development and following the principles set at the 2015 World Summit on Sustainable Development, COP 21, and the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism + 20, Auditori L’illa is committed to sustainable management. We aim to prevent, reduce, or eliminate the environmental impact of our facilities and activities, both internally and externally. Our goal is to continually improve our environmental practices and enhance the sustainability of our establishment.
To this end, we have adopted the following Responsible Tourism Policy. This policy ensures we comply with the requirements of the Biosphere certification, including all legal requirements that regulate the effects generated by tourist activity.
We also undertake to motivate and train our staff with training and awareness of the principles of responsible tourism. We aim to promote good environmental practices within our community, participate in external activities and report both internally and externally on the company’s environmental progress and actions.
Likewise, our establishment is expressly committed to the fight against sexual exploitation or any other form of commercial exploitation and harassment, particularly of children, adolescents, women and minorities; and we are committed to adopting universal accessibility measures.
One of our main goals is to improve sustainable management, committing to continuous improvement in all areas of sustainability: social, economic and environmental, as well as customer satisfaction. To this end, projects for future extensions of facilities or activities must be subject to criteria of sustainability and efficiency in the use of resources.
This responsible tourism policy will be updated whenever circumstances require it, adopting and publishing in both cases new sustainability objectives.
L’Illa Auditorium and Convention Centre is located in Avinguda Diagonal, the true backbone of Barcelona. Thanks to its profound links with modernity, design, fashion, culture, leisure and sport, the area now enjoys a remarkable status among the international tourist and business circuits. The Auditorium and Convention Centre is part of L’Illa Diagonal, a huge shopping centre of 39,000 m2, two four-star hotels, 48,000 m2 of office space and a public parking area with 2,500 parking spots.
It also includes two schools, a sports centre and a public park of 6,000 m2. The privileged location of L’Illa Diagonal on Barcelona’s main avenue provides quick access from the airport, Sants station or the Rondas, while public transport such as underground and surface transport is also excellent.
