Thanks to the tireless, long-term support and initiative of the [Prof. Dr. Ernst Langner Foundation,](https://dr-langner-stiftung.org/startseite/) the vision of this magnificent new concert hall became a reality. The foundation supported the entire conception and construction of this extraordinary concert hall through years of intensive commitment. The realization of the JazzHall was a key element in the sustainable strengthening of jazz education in Hamburg. Since 2021, the JazzHall has provided a first-class stage – both for concerts by students of jazz studies and for national and international artists.

Architecture
Curved wooden ribs along the rounded ceiling structure the space and lend it a special atmosphere. Together with the acoustic elements between them, these ribs are largely responsible for the concert hall's outstanding sound quality. At the same time, the spaces between them provide room for the sophisticated sound and recording equipment that is essential for musicians and has been discreetly integrated into the architecture.

[Click here for the current program](https://jazzhall.hfmt-hamburg.de/kalender) .
Open to all
The JazzHall's unique stage can be used from both sides, and its fully retractable glass facade allows for open-air concerts facing the Outer Alster Lake. In good weather, the musicians simply turn around, and the audience enjoys the music from the amphitheater steps on the Alster meadows – as is the case during the annual JazzHall SummerFestival with its free program for all ages. This clever architecture creates unforgettable open-air experiences and seamlessly connects the hall with its idyllic waterfront location.
